TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Planned lane closures on I-59 in St. Clair County

Beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, December 4, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the right lane of I-59 Southbound for clearing operations between the Steele Exit (Milepost 174) and the Ashville Exit (Milepost 166).

This lane will be closed for the removal of trees and debris.

All travel lanes are expected to reopen at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, December 4.

This same lane closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the remainder of the week and Saturday.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
