The Springville Farmers Market on Main Street (across from PNC Bank) is growing and creating a buzz with local honey, fresh vegetables, local artisan crafts and fun, food offerings.  The Springville Farmers Market will be open every Friday from 3p.m.-6p.m. and Saturdays from 8a.m. -12p.m. until November 11th with booths from local produce vendors and craft and art vendors.  

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. AL State Hwy 11 from Whitney Junction/AL Hwy 231 to State Route 23, Springville to close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. Alternate Route: I-59. Local traffic can utilize Huff Lane to Crawford Cove to State Rd 23 and also Pinedale Rd to 23. Timeline: More than 1 year.  This notice is provided from the Alabama Department of Transportation. 

Springville City Council Public Hearing will be held Nov. 20, 6 p.m. at 160 Walker Street, Springville. The public meeting is regarding abating the public nuisance on the following properties: Lots 20, 22, 47, 48 and the entrance area of MacDonald Farms Subdivision located on US Hwy 11. The City Council will consider any necessary action at the regular meeting, which is scheduled to begin immediately following the public hearing.  Call 205-467-2705 with any questions.  

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills. Springville Senior Center 

The Springville Senior Center started its Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome.  Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.  

The Springville Senior Center is hosting a 50s Sock Hop, November 8 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Senior Center in Springville is also currently offering crochet, exercise, art and ceramic classes. Contact the Senior Center at 205-467-6022 for more information.

The Springville Presbyterian Church is undergoing a restoration. The church is one of the oldest churches in the area. Donations to fund the restoration can be made to the Springville Presbyterian Church Foundation at P.O. Box 429, Springville, AL 35146.
