Planned Lane Closures on I-59 southbound in St. Clair County

- Lanes between the Ashville Exit (MP 166) and the St. Clair Springs Exit (MP 156) will be closing beginning Monday, Aug. 12.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the right lane of I-59 Southbound for Clearing Operations between the St. Clair/Etowah County Line (Milepost 175.75) and the Steele Exit (Milepost 174).
This lane will be closed for the removal of trees and debris for the Clearing Operation.
All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
This lane closure will be in place daily, at the above-mentioned times, for the remainder of the week.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
