The Springville Senior Center started its Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome.  Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.  

Christmas & Craft Bazaar hosted by Springville Methodist Children’s Ministry, Saturday, November 11 at 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

The Springville Presbyterian Church is undergoing a restoration. The church is one of the oldest churches in the area. Donations to fund the restoration can be made to the Springville Presbyterian Church Foundation at P.O. Box 429, Springville, AL 35146.  

The annual Springville Tigers Homecoming Parade will be held on September 29 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Main Street. Come out and support the Tigers.  

The Lego Club will meet every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.  12 p.m. at the Springville Library in the Children’s Annex. Space is limited. Please call or visit your library to register at 205-467-2339. 

There is a new Cub Scout Pack at New Heights Christian Church in Argo on US Hwy 11 for boys in grades K-5th. They also offer Boy Scouts for grades 6th – 12th. Contact 205-467-2038 for more information.

The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama is now accepting registration for Springville Troop #25004. 

The Springville High School Dance Team is hosting the Halloween Color Kraze Race on October 28 with proceeds benefitting the team. Register online at www.raceentry.com/race-reviews/halloween-color-kraze.   

Christ Community Church is offering Grief Share classes beginning in September. griefshare.springville.info  

The Springville Farmers Market on Main Street (across from PNC Bank) is growing and creating a buzz with local honey, fresh vegetables, local artisan crafts and fun, food offerings.  The Springville Farmers Market will be open every Friday from 36 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. -12 p.m. until November 11 with booths from local produce vendors and craft and art vendors.  

The Big Springs Park Splash Pad will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is $1 per person, children three years and under are free.  

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes two hour classroom training and two hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The next class will be posted soon. 

The Springville Library will host “An American Girl Club” for ages 6-12, every first Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  Contact the Springville Library for details at 205-467-2339. 

The Senior Center in Springville is currently offering crochet, exercise, art and ceramic classes. Contact the Senior Center at 205-467-6022 for more information.  

From the St Clair County EMA: Road Closure at Muckleroy Creek Bridge. AL State Hwy 11 from Whitney Junction/AL Hwy 231 to State Route 23, Springville to close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. Alternate Route: I-59. Local traffic can utilize Huff Lane to Crawford Cove to State Rd 23 and also Pinedale Rd to 23. Timeline: More than one year.  This notice is provided from the Alabama Department of Transportation. 

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
