Metro Bank helps bring Iron Horse Bluegrass to CEPA

This week, Metro Bank became the official event sponsor of the Oct. 5 performance of Iron Horse Bluegrass, which promises to be a packed evening of family fun for area residents.

“We’re excited to sponsor the Iron Horse Bluegrass show and hope the Pell City community enjoys a night at the theater,” Metro Bank President Jason Dorough said.

Sponsorships represent a tax-deductible contribution to CEPA that include many benefits. Primarily, Metro Bank’s support of this show encourages the CEPA mission to bring quality programming to the residents of St. Clair County and helps grow education programs including annual drama camps and the Spotlight program.

As part of the 2017 Fall Season, Iron Horse will bring their inventive style of bluegrass to the stage for one night only. The quartet will perform their brand of classic rock covers, songs ranging from Elton John’s “Rocket Man” to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” It’s a performance that’s been enjoyed across the country, as well as online. Their YouTube videos have received more than 5 million views.

“The CEPA Board selected Iron Horse as one of its shows this season because we know their performance perfectly fits our audience,” CEPA Director Jeff Thompson said. “Their catalogue includes songs I grew up on, and I can’t wait to hear them played live in this creative style.”

Other songs in their catalogue include Nirvana’s “All Apologies,” The Marshall Tucker Band’s “Fire on the Mountain,” and “Float On” by Modest Mouse.

“We have a new sound for Bluegrass, and we always perform with a spirit and sense of style that pays the most gratifying compliment to acoustic and bluegrass lovers; a warm mixture of family influence, belief in God, and an unwillingness to deny our creative urges,” said band member Tony Robertson.

The performance on Thursday, Oct. 5 will begin at 7 p.m. at CEPA. A VIP Artist Reception – a regular part of the CEPA Show experience that includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages – begins at 6 p.m. Doors open for regular ticket holders at 6:30 p.m. Standard tickets are $20, and VIP tickets are $40.
