With the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and the imminent collision of Hurricane Irma hitting the Caribbean and headed to Florida and Georgia coasts, people have come together to help those in need.
Pell City students and residents are doing their part with a community Hurricane Relief Donation Drive. It will be on September 11, Patriots Day. A truck will be parked in the old K-Mart parking lot from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
“The City of Pell City is proud to partner with the Pell City Ministerial Association, the Pell City School System, and Victory Christian School to collect and send much needed supplies to those affected by this natural disaster,” Pell City Mayor Bill Pruitt stated.
Needed supplies are bottled water, bleach, hygiene items, baby items, baby and adult diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer, bug spray, cleaning supplies and medical supplies such as bandages, antibacterial ointment, and peroxide. No clothing items will be accepted please.
You can also donate monetarily onsite or do that online by going to www.cvcog.church/give or paypal.me/cvcog. All proceeds will go to hurricane relief.
“All of the schools are collecting donation supplies as well,” Kellie Miller, Duran Jr. High Beta sponsor said. “We have different clubs from all schools participating. The school system is working with The Pell City Ministries Association (and City of Pell City) to coordinate the donation drive.”
