Hello Readers! I’m back with this week’s edition of “What’s Up in Odenville”.

The subtle change in the air means it’s that time…for FOOTBALL! High school football kicked off this past Friday and college football kicks off tonight. I have been waiting on this day since the National Championship back in January. I don’t know why we have to wait eight months for football to come back around. Let’s face it, professional baseball and basketball are practically year round, why can’t football be too?

Lets get to the news.

Local Events

The weather was perfect for the First Annual Meet the Saints Day held August 19 at the football field. There was a car show, vendors, games, food, band performance, football scrimmages from the OYAA Park, the Junior High Team, and the High School and a JROTC demo.

St. Clair County High School (SCCHS) Football kicked off last Friday at home vs. John Carroll with a 27-7 victory. First official game is Sept. 1 at Lincoln. Way to go boys! GO SAINTS!

The SCCHS XC Track team will host the St. Clair High School Saturday Invitational Saturday September 16. Meet begins at 8 a.m. GO SAINTS!

The Odenville Area Business Association will have a lunch meeting Monday September 11th, at 12:00 noon at Odenville Presbyterian Church. If you would like to attend, please R.S.V.P. by Friday September 8 to odenvillebiz@gmail.com

That’s all for this week! Send your Odenville news to odenvillenews@gmail.com
