Mrs. Miranda was the guest speaker for Springville Library Preschool Story Time, reading “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons!” Preschool Story Time resumes Wednesday, August 23 with stories, snacks, and activities.  Story Time is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

The Springville Police Department in conjunction with Payless Drugs will host Kids Safety Night Monday, August 28 from 4:30 – 6:30p.m. Each child will receive a free “Child ID Kit.”

The Springville Farmers Market on Main Street (across from PNC Bank) is growing and creating a buzz with local honey, fresh vegetables, local artisan crafts and fun, food offerings.  The Springville Farmers Market will be open every Friday from 3p.m.-6p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. -12 p.m. until November 11 with booths from local produce vendors and craft and art vendors.

 

The Big Springs Park Splash Pad will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is $1 per person, 3 years and under is free.

 

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course which is open to the public. AL State Hwy 11 from Whitney Junction/AL Hwy 231 to State Route 23, Springville to close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. Alternate Route: I-59. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
