MJ Miniature Glow Golf opened its doors in Pell City on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Courtney Castleberry, newly appointed Executive Director of the Pell City Chamber of Commerce and Larry Daugherty, president of the Chamber board, were on hand to usher in this new business.
Meighan and Jessie Posey created the unique indoor miniature glow golf space from scratch. Jessie spent two months designing and building each of the 18 holes while Meighan, who has a penchant for the 70s, led the design and paint scheme.
“Kids and teens need something to do,” Meighan Posey said. “We wanted to make something that families could do together.”
The area was transformed with glow-in-the-dark paint, blacklights, and disco lights. Each hand-built hole has also been painted with blacklight-reactive paint, and blackout curtains cover the windows to darken the room even in the middle of the day.
MJ Miniature Glow Golf, which is located at 114A Cogswell Avenue, Pell City, will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m.- 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.- midnight, and Sunday 11 a.m.- 8 p.m.
Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12, and children 4 and under are free. Adults over the age of 55 and high school students with ID are $8. There is also an all day pass available for $30. Party rentals are also available, with a dedicated party room with karaoke, or the whole building can be rented for $500 for four hours. Concessions are also available onsite.
