- Another happy attendee shows off his new balloon accessories during Storytime at the Springville Public Library.
The Springville Library received a visit from Larry Moore, the “Balloon Guy,” for a Preschool Storytime Balloon Workshop, July 19. Storytime at the Springville Library is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and includes a story, craft and snacks.
The Springville Youth Soccer Association will hold online soccer registration until August 5 at www.quickscores.com/sya. There will be an in-person registration on August 5 at First Baptist Church of Springville Soccer Fields located on Terry Street, across from Dollar General. Fall registration for Springville Youth Baseball, Softball and Soccer is available online at www.quickscores.com.
The Springville Preservation Society is hosting Kids Day at the Museum, Thursday, July 27 and August 3 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for ages 6 -12. There will be fun, games and characters from Springville’s history. Admission is free. Contact (205) 837-7790.
The Springville Antique Mall will celebrate its 10th year anniversary with refreshments, prize drawings and discounts every Saturday in July. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1- 5 p.m.
The Springville High School Basketball Team is hosting “Tiger Basketball Camp,” July 24-27 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for grades First through Sixth. Cost is $50. Contact 205-467-7833.
The Big Springs Park Splash Pad will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is $1 per person. Children three years and under are free.
The Springville Farmers Market on Main Street (across from PNC Bank) will be open until November 11 every Friday from 3- 6p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. -12 p.m. with booths from local produce, art, and vendors.
The Springville Library will host “An American Girl Club” for ages 6-12, every first Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Contact the Springville Library for details at 205-467-2339.
The Lego Club will meet every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Springville Library in the Children’s Annex. Space is limited. Please call or visit your library to register at 205-467-2339.

From the St. Clair County EMA: Road Closure at Muckleroy Creek Bridge. AL State Hwy 11 from Whitney Junction/AL Hwy 231 to State Route 23, Springville to close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. Alternate Route: I-59. Local traffic can utilize Huff Lane to Crawford Cove to State Rd 23 and also Pinedale Rd to 23. Timeline: More than 1 year. This notice is provided from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
