- Students learned a variety of artistic mediums at Art Camp for Kids.
The Council of the Arts of St. Clair County is bringing back their annual art camp – and this year it’s going to be bigger than before.
Housed at the Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA), Art Camp will be open to kids ages 7-16. Throughout the week, they will learn different art mediums such as printmaking, tie dying, painting, glass mosaic, and multimedia projects.

For many of the projects, kids will end the day with a finished product, while other art pieces can be set aside and used in the final multimedia project at the end of the week.
“Art camp is a good opportunity for kids to learn new ways to create,” said Janice Entler, president of the St. Clair County Council of the Arts and project coordinator for Art Camp. “The kids who come always have a great time and it’s fun to see how unique and different each piece they make comes out.”
Art camp began July 10-14 and 19 kids attended. Students learned about painting, wax-resist on fabric technique called “batik,” and had the opportunity to create their own art.
Classes will also be held July 17-21. Class times will be divided with ages 7-11 running from 9 a.m.–noon and ages 12–16 from 1–4 p.m. Cost is $150 per child. Classes will take place at CEPA, located at 25 Williamson Dr., Pell City next to Pell City High School.
