The City of Leeds and the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting on Saturday at Highway 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries in the strip mall next to Leeds Wal-Mart. As part of the grand opening festivities, our very own Elvis (Terry Padgett) performed.
Thank you for all of the support for the 3rd Annual Miracles in Motion 5k & 1-Mile Run Run/Walk/Roll to benefit Moody Miracle League. This was a great event for a great cause. Please plan to participate again in 2018!

The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Monthly Luncheon is scheduled for 11:45 AM today, Mar. 16 in the Leeds First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Guest speaker will be Scott Stover, Alabama Power Security Manager, who will speak on Security in the Workplace. Moody Miracle League will be the Business Spotlight. Join the City of Leeds and concerned residents for Leeds Roadside Cleanup Day this Saturday, March 18 from 8 a.m. until Noon. Please wear long pants, bring gloves and NO open-toed shoes. Bags are provided. Meet at 8373 1st Avenue, Leeds.
Pancakes for a Purpose: Moody Kiwanis Club will host its semi-annual pancake supper at Carpenetti’s Pizzeria in Moody this Monday, March 20, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Proceeds will fund college scholarships for area Key Club students, youth projects and Dolly Parton Imagination Library free book program for preschoolers. $5 per plate. Dine in with your family or carry out. Tickets are available from Kiwanis, Key Club, Builders Club, and Aktion Club members as well as at the door. Please call (205) 640-3078 for more information.
Leeds City Council is scheduled to meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20 at Leeds Civic Center Meeting Room.
Moody Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 20 at White’s Chapel.
Moody Area Chamber of Commerce Corporate Liaison Group will meet at Noon this Tuesday, March 21 at Laney’s Country Cooking Restaurant in Leeds. If you are a business professional or individual who would like more business exposure and participate in community projects, please feel free to attend. Moody Kiwanis Club is scheduled to meet at Noon on Tuesday, March 21 at Moody City Hall.
Bluegrass Barbeque will host the 1st Annual BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival on March 25 at Moody City Park in memory of Doyle and Hazel Crutchfield. Proceeds of the festival will benefit the Alabama Dementia & Alzheimer Care of St. Clair County. This festival will exhibit great Blues and Bluegrass music from around the region as well as arts & crafts, cook-off and vendors of all kinds. Business sponsorships are available. Purchase your tickets now for the 10th Annual LadyBUGS Fashion Show scheduled for Noon on Tuesday, April 4 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Proceeds go to provide scholarships for four deserving Leeds/Moody high school students. Tickets are $25 each which may be purchased from any LadyBUGS member. The 7th Annual Moody Masters Golf Tournament hosted by the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Monday, April 17 at Trussville Country Club.
