For the fourth consecutive year Writers Anonymous and the Pell City Public Library will be hosting the Mid-Winter Writers Conference in Pell City. It brings guests and presenters in a variety of writing genres from states throughout the Southeast. This year the event will be held at the Pell City Municipal Complex on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check-in for registrants will begin at 7:30 a.m. and a continental breakfast will be served.

There will be a “Meet and Greet” that is free and open to the public on Friday, Feb. 24 beginning at 6 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with presenters and register for the conference if they have not previously registered online. There will also be a “Round Robin” reading that is open to the public where they are encouraged to bring poetry or short prose to share. Light refreshments will be available.

Rita Aiken Moritz, founder of Writers Anonymous and author of three books stated, “What we have is unique: a true love for words and the people who write them. That’s what makes us different and special, and that is why people who attend the conference feel like they’ve come home.”

Registration is available online at mwwconference.com. Prices for registration are $65 prior to Feb. 17, $75 after Feb. 17, and $25 for students. The fee includes all workshops, continental breakfast, lunch, and keynote speakers.

The Mid-Winter Writers Conference began in 2014 drawing around 40 attendees. In subsequent years, the conference has continued to grow, both in attendance and in the variety of speakers and workshops. Last year almost 100 people attended the conference from areas throughout the Southeast. Published authors, bloggers, poets, and others that were just beginning their writing journey built on their experiences with an array of educational workshops.

This year, the workshops offer even more opportunities for established and beginning writers to learn more. From learning about your first conference experience, to editing, research, publishing, promoting, and blogging, there is a workshop available for everyone.
