Lights in the Park. This event will illuminate Lakeside Park in Pell City with Christmas cheer. On Dec. 3, Lights in the Park officially opened for the thousands of motorists who enjoy this touch of Christmas each year in the park. Through December, people may visit Lights in the Park from sunrise to 9 p.m. Between Nov. 24 and Dec. 2, churches, schools, organizations and companies will set up their Christmas displays in the park. Decorations are to be removed before Jan. 9, 2017.

Dec. 8: Pell City Christmas Parade. 7-8 p.m. Begins at Pell City High School. The Christmas Parade that makes its way through downtown Pell City and beyond each year is a sight to behold. Floats, bands, convertibles, the antics of the Shriners and Jolly Old Saint Nick himself are part of the festivities as Pell City rings in the season in early December. Thousands of visitors line the streets each year to get a glimpse of the lights, the pageantry and the spirit of Christmas that abounds in what has become one of the region’s largest parades.

Dec. 9: The Kurly Q’s Square Dance Club hosts The Warblers. 7-9 p.m. Want to hear some great Christmas music? Then you can attend the performances of the Birmingham Warblers in either Odenville or at the Brook Besor in Pell City. The Warblers Club is a men’s choral group that has its roots in the original Warblers Club of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Warblers Club, Inc. has, for many years, provided funding for several local charities in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The Warblers will perform at Odenville Middle School to benefit the Curley Q’s Square Dance Club on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7pm. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at school or door (if available since seating is limited.) They will be at the Brook Besor on Dec.10 at 7pm with tickets @ $10, purchased at the door. Dec. 11: Christmas Market. 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. 6201 Hwy.11, Springville. It is patterned after the open markets in Europe with a Southern touch. There will be a bouncy house for the children. Great food. Lots of different vendors. Fun for the whole family and lots of unique gifts. We hope to make this an annual event. We are also planning another market for the Spring.
