The Springville Wal-Mart will host “Cruise In For Children’s Hospital” sponsored by the Alabama SPEED Club as a charity Car Show. The crowd will get to vote for their favorite car, after 5:30 p.m. the votes will be counted and the winning car will receive a Wal-Mart gift card. Money will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. The event will be Oct. 1 from 4:30 – 6 p.m.
A golf tournament benefiting the Springville Recycling Center will be held Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. at the Heritage Golf Course in Oneonta. The tournament is a four team scramble. Contact William Isley at (205) 467-2849.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6pm – 8:30pm at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
