Springville Vista: Donate to help LA flood victims

Storytime at Springville Library is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Snacks are provided along with a story and a craft.

The Springville Fire Department is taking donations at Station 1 on Walker Street on behalf of the St. Clair County EMA to benefit flood victims in Denham Springs, LA.

The Springville Tigers High School Football team lost in their second game of the season to Mortimer Jordan, 40-0 last Friday, Sept. 2.

Springville Schools will dismiss Friday, Sept. 16 at noon for the Homecoming Parade.

The One Eighty Church will host the “Cruisin’ For Christ” Fourth Annual Car Show and Swap Meet, Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. They will have food and music. Proceeds will help fund Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-based program that helps people with psychological conditions such as anxiety and addiction.

A golf tournament benefiting the Springville Recycling Center will be held Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. at the Heritage Golf Course in Oneonta. The tournament is a four team scramble. Contact William Isley at (205) 467-2849.

The Springville Cross Country Track Team is hosting The Tiger Pride 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run, Saturday, Oct. 29. Details coming soon.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
