Cropwell man struck by vehicle, pronounced dead on the scene

A single-vehicle crash at 4:10 a.m. today, Sept. 4, has claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Paul Edward Johnston, 36, of Cropwell was crossing Interstate 20 when he was struck by a 2010 Infiniti. Johnston was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Infiniti was not injured and remained at the scene. The crash occurred near mile marker 166, within the city limits of Lincoln. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
