Springville Mayor, William “Butch” Isley, hosted a Prayer Vigil for law enforcement Wednesday night, August 3, at Big Springs Park. The Springville City Council was on hand along with County Chairman, Paul Manning to officiate the vigil with Mayor Isley. 10 area pastors were invited to pray at the event, which drew a large crowd. Prayers for safety over each officer were prayed by the event leaders and all those in attendance.
Special prayers were offered for Officer Ryan Pinion who is still recuperating from a serious accident that happened this week when his police cruiser was struck while working a car fire on the interstate.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together, show support and pray over our officers,” Springville City Councilman, Chip Martin said. “It’s an opportunity for us to thank officers for what they do.”
Local resident and aerial photographer, Jeff Boesch, participated in the vigil and took photographs.
“It was an emotional moment for Springville, Citizens coming out to put their hands on, and pray for our local officers,” Boesch said. “They truly do not understand how much we appreciate them taking time away from their friends and families, to protect ours.”
