Marcus Robinson saw an issue with local retail and decided to do something about it. When he wanted clothes, he usually found himself traveling to Anniston and Birmingham to shop in a mall. He wanted to create a store in St. Clair County that would offer urban clothes and accessories, so nobody else would need to shop outside of the county. 

Marcus worked with his wife, Brandy, and conceptualized Fashion Suppliers. The clothing store is located in Pell City, and filled with the latest styles in both men’s and women’s clothing.

“This is very much a family business,” Brandy said. “This was my husband’s idea and it’s something we have worked to make a reality.”

Because Brandy and Marcus are the one’s ordering the merchandise, they choose to not bring in bulk amounts of each item. This keeps their inventory unique and the shelves full of new styles.  

“You aren’t going to buy something from here and then see a dozen other people wearing the same outfit,” Brandy said. “We want to offer people great style that is original and they can make their own.”

The Robinson’s have done research and they know what Pell City needs. They have chosen to stock their store with items that can’t be found anywhere else in the area. One of their most popular items is the store’s snapback collection. 

The hat shelves are filled with Auburn and Alabama hats, as well as NBA teams and other non-affiliate designs. But the store goes further than just market research when it comes to purchasing decisions. 

“We ask our customers what they want to see us carry,” Brandy said. “If we have several people coming in asking for a certain style of clothing or a particular accessory, we take note of that and do what we can to get those requests in our store.”
