Managing Pharmacist Amy Cox and Staff Pharmacist Melissa Masters have both chosen to further their careers at Pell City’s Kmart. While the two pharmacists come from different backgrounds, they share a common goal — helping others to the best of their abilities. That driving factor is what led them both to join the Kmart team at the beginning of June. 

“Kmart is, of course, a large corporation, but it has a small-town feel,” Cox said. “It provides clientele with that personal service and that is a priority for me as a pharmacist.” 

Cox has wanted to enter the pharmaceutical world since she began working in a pharmacy at 16. She made that dream a reality in 1995 and has been enjoying the field ever since. 

Masters grew up knowing she wanted to be in the medical field, but did not realize her love of pharmacy until she was in college.

“I started working at a independent pharmacy in school and knew instantly that I had found my passion,” Masters said. “I loved interacting with the people that came in and I loved being able to better their well-being.” 

The Kmart Pharmacy provides the best of both worlds when it comes to you pharmaceutical experience. Customers find pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are invested in their health, while being backed by the stable support system of a large corporation. 

Working at the Kmart Pharmacy allows both pharmacists the opportunity to combine their talents with their desire to build lasting relationships with clients. They are a part of a team of five skilled employees who all share that vision. 

“I have loved getting to know Pell City, everyone has been great so far and I’m excited to see what the future brings,” Masters said. “It means a lot to be on a team that shares the same standard of excellence, while working to build relationships with the community.”
