Spring Valley Baptist Church Pastor

Spring Valley Baptist Church in Springville has a new pastor, Brad Smith. Pastor Brad is from Lewistown, PA. He has followed in his father’s footsteps as a second generation pastor. Pastor Brad grew up in Christian school and excelled in sports, band and choir. During high school he attended the Word of Life Island youth camp in Schroon Lake, NY. After school he made the decision to spend a year at the Word of Life Bible Institute and then go on to Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH.

His wife Shallon was born and raised in Antioch, CA near San Francisco. She also was raised in Christian school. After graduating a year early, she worked and attended junior college. She eventually became the youth secretary at the church she had grown up in. It was at that point that she knew that she wanted more Biblical training. After a lengthy search process, she also decided to go to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY.

While at Word of Life, Shallon and Brad met and later married. They joined the staff of Word of Life. In 2001 they moved to Word of Life’s location in Hudson, Florida and served at the Bible Institute, Youth Camp, Conference Center and RV Park. Word of Life Florida has a 500 acre property to facilitate all of those ministries. In 2005, the Smith’s became student ministers at First Baptist Church of New Port Richey. They served there until June 12, 2016.

Now they are ministering at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Springville. They have two daughters, Emma and Keira.
