Two PCHS anglers qualify for Nationals

Pell City High School Bass Fishing Team members Ean Davis and Grayson Hanson finished in sixth place at the Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation High School Team Trail State Championship on Lake Wheeler. That finish secured them both a spot in the National Championship, which which will be held at Kentucky Lake in Tennessee in August.

Last weekend, the duo brought 27.56lbs total to the scales for the two day tournament. There were 195 boats in the tournament representing high school teams from North Alabama to South Alabama.   

“I am really proud of Ean and Grayson. This tournament was a grind,” coach Curtis Gossett said. “As a coach, it is great to watch members of your team work hard and get rewarded for that hard work. I love these two young men and I can’t wait to see them get their shot at Kentucky Lake in August.”

B.A.S.S. started the High School National Championship three years ago. This is the third year straight for Pell City Bass Fishing Team has sent a two-man team to the B.A.S.S. High School National Championship. Pell City is the only team in Alabama to accomplish that.
