RIVERSIDE – Jimmy Hugh Hathcox, Sr. October 9, 1940 – May 12, 2016.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather – Jimmy, age 75, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers; step-daughter,Tami Boots; and grandson, Jason Hathcox.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Houston Hathcox; sons, Jimmy H. Hathcox, Jr. and Rex Jason (Lena) Hathcox; daughter, Brandy (Del) Hathcock; step-daughter, Debi Lynne (Lloyd) Spivey; sister, Judy Hathcox Bearden; grandchildren, Meagan Hathcox, Kristofer Hathcox, Michael Spivey, Bailee Spivey, Elizabeth Hathcock, Zander Hathcock and Oscar Lui; great-grandchildren, Kristofer Hathcox, Jr., Mariah Caroll, Makenzee Spivey, Skyler Spivey; and nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was a longtime member of Arbor Baptist Church, however, attended Romar Beach Baptist Church when visiting their vacation home and friends in Gulf Shores.
Jimmy was a graduate of Ragland High School and retired from Connors Steel, Inc. In his spare time he thoroughly enjoyed his 1932 Ford Cabriolet and his many car buddies. He and Pat traveled and met so many people. He also enjoyed his Riverside Coffee Buddies.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 14, 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment followed at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Ragland. The Rev. Doug Ford, Rev. Ted St. John and Bro. Keith Ray conducted the service.
The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in Ragland or Arbor Baptist Church in Pell City.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Pollard, Morris Leggin, Barry Hathcox, Britt Hathcox, Lloyd Spivey, Charles Dial, Randy Moses. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Bice.
