Writer’s Conference is this weekend

Elizabeth Huntley, a Birmingham attorney will deliver a keynote address titled “The Power of a Personal Story," at the The Mid-Winter Writers’ Conference later this month. 

The Mid-Winter Writers’ Conference returns to Pell City this weekend, and guests of the 2016 event will again have access to a day of workshops, activities and presentations from inspiring speakers.

The conference provides writers of all genres a place to learn more about their crafts from a selection of successful writers. The conference, sponsored by the local organization Writers Anonymous and the Pell City Public Library, is scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 27 at Seddon Baptist Church in Pell City.

Elizabeth Huntley will deliver a keynote address titled “The Power of a Personal Story.” In her book, Huntley tells of her own youth, which was defined by the numerous trials that she faced and overcame with the help of others.

The conference’s second keynote presenter, Rita Moritz, will be speaking on the use of prose or poetry in stories.
