CLAYDIS THOMPSON

ASHVILLE – Mr. Claydis Thompson, 74, of Ashville passed away at home on Friday, December 11, 2015. He was a Deacon of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson was the owner of TNT Construction Company and a longtime resident of St. Clair County. He loved his family and friends and above all he loved his Lord and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clint Thompson; mother, Mintia Mae (Jester) Thompson; brothers, J. C. Thompson, and Ira Thompson; grandson, Kyle Thompson-Hanson; mother and father -in-law, Frank and Lucille Wilson; and brother-in-law, Frank (Bert) Wilson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline Wilson Thompson; son, Wayne (Vanessa) Thompson; daughter, Pamela (Lemuel) Goss; grandchildren, Dakota Thompson-Hanson, SPC. John Claydis Goss (214 MP Company, Deployed), Madison Goss, Caleb Goss, and Madeline Goss; great-grandchild, Jackson Robinson; brother, Dennis (Barbara) Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, beloved cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Gum Springs Baptist Church. Bro. C. Cornutt, Bro. J. Jones, and Bro. B. Davis officiated. Burial followed in the Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Thompson, Dakota Thompson-Hanson, Lemuel Goss, Doug Hanson, Gene Hanner, and Brian Stokes.
Honorary pallbearers was the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
Special thanks to his nurses and nursing assistants from Amedisys Hospice; and to our church family and Pastors from Gum Springs Baptist Church.
