Back-to-back: Green Wave crushes Fayette County to claim title

The Leeds Green Wave won the AHSAA Class 4A State Championship today at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Leeds defeated Fayette County High School, 55-7.
This is the second title in a row for the Green Wave and its fourth under Head Coach Keith Etheredge. It’s also the first time Leeds has ever been back-to-back state champions.
TaDarryl Marshall threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to Koi Freeman to start the game. The Green Wave was able to keep its opponent scoreless through the first quarter. Fayette County scored their sole touchdown in the second quarter.
The MVP for the game was Tre Nation, scored five touchdowns to bring his season total to 34. Nation now holds the record for the most touchdowns scored by a single player in a Class 4A Championship game.
