Sneak Peek: Tour the new Moody Publix before the store opens tomorrow morning

- The Village of Moody Publix has partnered with the City of Moody in support of its Toys for Kids and Angel Tree programs in 2015. Be sure to make a contribution to the box in the front of the store when you stop by this week.
Tomorrow morning, residents of Moody and the surrounding areas will be treated to their first opportunity to shop at their new Publix Super Markets.
The store, located in The Village at Moody on U.S. 411 just off I-20 Exit 144, will host its grand opening on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 6:45 a.m. The ceremony will feature remarks from Moody Mayor Joe Lee, State Sen. Jim McClendon and State Rep. Jim Hill.
The first 1,000 customers will receive a free Publix re-usable grand opening grocery bag. Flowers will be given to customers as they enter the store while supplies last., and the first 25 customers who purchase $50 or more in groceries will receive a free bag of groceries valued at $25.
Shoppers will also be encouraged to register to win prizes throughout the store including a $100 gift card from Publix as well as cakes, deli platters, digital blood pressure kits and fresh products from the meat and seafood departments. Prizes will be given away daily throughout grand opening week.
The Village of Moody Publix will become the 61st Alabama Publix location. The 45,000 square-foot store, with an estimated 140 associates, will have the traditional grocery, dairy and frozen food departments along with:
• A full-service meat department
• A seafood counter
• Popular bakery offerings
• A full-service deli.
• A produce department offering both organic and conventionally grown fruits and vegetables and featuring cut fruit and freshly made berries and yogurt parfaits
• A full service pharmacy with drive-thru window
The store is located at 2200 Village Drive. Regular hours will be 7 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week.
