Students at Moody Middle School welcomed a special visitor last week as U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers stopped by for a visit.

Rogers, traveling his district on his monthly week off from service in Washington D.C., was treated to a tour of the school by the Moody Middle School Ambassadors and a brief reception when he arrived. After that, he met the entire student body in the gymnasium for a quick discussion and question-and-answer session.

Principal Debra Allred said a member of the faulty invited Rogers to visit the school to speak to sixth grade students, and Rogers replied that he’d like to use the visit speak to the whole school. Students had the rare opportunity to communicate directly to their Congressman and as Rogers fielded questions nearly every hand was raised.
