The Beta Club at Coosa Valley Elementary is involved in numerous community service projects. They were recently involved with one that was personal for both the students and the teachers. They held a lemonade stand fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade State, an organization dedicated to raising funds for the research and cure of childhood cancer.
The club chose to host this fundraiser because one of their classmates, Faith Ginn, is currently fighting cancer. In addition to the lemonade stand, they also received donations for additions to the playground that would benefit Faith and other students.
The event proved to be a success for the students. At the end of the fundraiser, they had raised over $900.
