In a heroic effort against the #3 ranked and undefeated Cedar Bluff, Jadon Killings ran for three touchdowns as the Purple Devils rallied from a 21-7 deficit in the second half to close to within two. Ragland’s difficulty in converting PAT’s late in the game cost the team dearly, and a late touchdown pass from Stoney Merritt to Braxton Thomas proved to be not enough as the Tigers remain undefeated and snap Ragland’s two game winning streak.

Week Six Preview vs. Talladega County Central

Because TCC is in a bit of a rut, with its disappointing record and ongoing problems stopping opposing offenses, the Purple Devils need to believe they can score at will this coming Friday.

Talladega County Christian is all about their running attack. Quarterback Darrel Maples is flat-out scary when he gets outside the pocket. Behind him are ‘Mr. Inside’ (#22 Sophomore Kylen Cross), a big, physical back with great feet, ‘Mr. Clutch’ (#33 Senior running back Dequavion Wright), a bulky, hard-nosed runner perfect for 3^rd and short situations or a lead blocker for his teammates. Finally, there is ‘Mr. Outside’ (#21 senior running back Jamari Evans), who is utilized in many jet-sweep and misdirection running plays. Evans is very quick to the edge, and he also leads the defense as their middle linebacker.
