Springville Previews

 Alexandria 27 Springville Tigers 0

Alexandria displayed toughness and physicality as they manhandled their smaller opponents from Springville on their way to a 27-0 shutout in last Friday’s regional matchup.

The Tigers could not find a way to slow down Alexandria’s downhill running attack, led by

Sophomore Keenan Woodruff, who ran for three touchdowns and accumulated 223 first half rushing yards that put the Cubs up 21-0 at intermission.

Week Five Preview vs. Talladega (2-2)

A non-regional matchup on the road with Talladega may be the medicine Springville needs at season’s midpoint. While Talladega features its typical enormous defensive front featuring #64 Senior defensive end Justin Twymon and Junior defensive tackle Kevin Garrett (#61), they are often beaten to the hole by opposing offenses, leaving their defensive captain Senior safety Damarco Truss (#2) to save the day after the second level has been broken. Springville should run, run and run some more on Talladega and gas out their front four.

Offensively Talladega has a good tailback in #4 Senior Jecoyus Chapman, who runs low to the ground and maneuvers deftly behind his big offensive line.
