Smell that? Yeah, that is flavor by definition. Sweet and smoky with a hint of cracked pepper and a garlic rub. It’s barbecue, but not just any. That smell is coming from the plate prepared by St. Clair County’s best, and you have no idea how good it tastes.
At the 2015 Logan Martin Blues and BBQ Bash, coming August 15 to Lakeside Park in Pell City, pros of the backyard pit will put their skills on display, competing against their neighbors for the title of Grand Champion — a title they’ll tout for a full year with a trophy perfectly placed by their sweat-stained spatula. “I’m the best,” it says. “And here’s the proof.”
“I can’t tell you how much interest there has been in this event,” said Lisa Gaither, Executive Director of the Greater Pell City Chamber of Commerce. “Cooks from across St. Clair County are lining up to claim this prize. I didn’t think we were going to need to say, ‘Space is limited,’ but we’re filling up fast!”
So, if that sounds like you — if your spit spits hellfire and you have a hip holster for your tongs — prove it. Register now for the August 15 competition by contacting the Greater Pell City Chamber of Commerce at (205) 338-3377 or visit pellcitychamber.com.
Can you taste it, Grand Champion?
