This week, The Foundry Ministries is holding two-day event to celebrate the grand opening of its newest store in Pell City, located at 10 20th Street S.
Grand Opening events begin with free coffee on Friday, March 6 in The Cup coffee shop located inside from 7-9 a.m. Soon after, the store will host Pell City public officials, the ministry’s board of directors and senior leadership for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
Radio station 93.7 WDJC will broadcast live on Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and shoppers can enjoy free pizza from Little Caesars served from 11:30 a.m.-noon. Festivities continue Saturday with free hot dogs (while supplies last), face painting, live music and more, along with 94.1 The River.
The store specializes in furniture and household décor. Shoppers will also find a selection of gently used clothing, shoes, antiques and collectibles, and a variety of other items.
An interdenominational, Christ-centered organization, The Foundry focuses on restoring the lives of men and women battling drug, alcohol and other life-dominating addictions. One hundred percent of the store’s income benefits The Foundry’s programs.
The Foundry Executive Director Rev. Bill Heintz said he believes The Thrift Store and The Cup present a meaningful way for members of the community to make a positive difference in the lives of their neighbors.
“Great coffee and great shopping — every purchase at The Foundry Thrift Store changes lives,” he added. “We’re very pleased we can offer this opportunity to both donors and shoppers in Pell City.”
