Partnering with Jefferson State and ADECA, the Pell City Police Department has received $6,493 in grant funds for a traffic safety program aimed at reducing DUI accidents. 

The grant reimburses the city as it assigns officers to traffic safety overtime details, mainly through holiday time periods, in an attempt to deter accidents and DUIs, according to Chief Greg Turley. 

“The community always looks forward to the annual partnership that allows officers to perform directed traffic enforcement initiatives and increase community safety,” Turley said.
