Pell City is “conducting business as usual,” Mayor Joe Funderburg said following the resignation of Patrick Draper as city manager last week.

Draper, who had served as Pell City’s fire chief before being named city manager in 2012, said in his resignation that he wishes to “pursue other avenues of opportunity in my life and career.”

City Clerk Penny Isbell will serve as interim city manager until a new candidate is hired, Funderburg said.
