Rogers visits Ashville, Ragland

- U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers visited St. Clair County Wednesday, chatting with the regulars at the Ashville Senior Center followed by a tour of Ragland High School. The congressman has made a tour of the Third District this month to discuss with consituents such issues as health care, education, and veterans’ affairs. During his visit to Ragland High, he spoke with counselor Genny Ball and assistant principal Tammy Echols. Ball retires Friday after a career of more than 27 years in education.
Congressman Mike Rogers visited with constituents in St. Clair County this week, stopping by to talk about health care and education at the Ashville Senior Center and Ragland High School. Rogers also met with Mayor Robert McKay of Ashville and Mayor Lanis White of Ragland.
Rogers said he appreciated the chance to hear directly from East Alabamians about the challenges they face and concerns they may have.
“I appreciate the time these folks take to talk with me. It was great to see the hard work folks are doing at the Ashville Senior Center on behalf of St. Clair County seniors. America made a promise to its seniors and we must live up to that promise,” he said. “I was also delighted to see the new science lab at Ragland High School. It was truly fantastic to speak with the students.”
Rogers serves as a senior member of the House Armed Services, Agriculture and Homeland Security committees.
