Raising awareness and promoting early detection are just two of the many reasons U.G. Clothing Boutique (formerly known as Uptown Girls) in the heart of downtown Pell City is hosting its breast cancer fundraiser.
Virginia Seales and friend of U.G., JoAnn Bain (or as Virginia calls her, “my right hand gal”) were at a clothing show and discovered the vendor—Simply Southern Tees.
“We loved the line and placed an order,” said Seales. “Then we saw their breast cancer tees.”
From there the idea was hatched to put on a fundraiser with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Susan G. Komen’s For the Cure.
Sizes are available from children’s to 2x. Prices for the youth sizes to extra large are $16.99, while the price for 2x is $18.99.
Five dollars from every purchase for the breast cancer tees will go to Susan G. Komen’s For the Cure.
“Whole offices are placing orders,” said Seales. “It’s a great cause and we wanted to be a part of the donation process.”
U.G. Clothing Boutique’s Facebook friends are joining the fight to kick cancer and rallying friends to purchase shirts for the cause.
Also a spokesperson for U.G., Bain wrote this on the store’s Facebook page, “Spread the word and let’s work together to show everyone what ‘Uptown Girls’ are all about.”
