The Triumph Superbike Classic presented by America’s First Federal Credit Union returns to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend, treating local racing fans to a full weekend of AMA Pro Road Racing activities.

The weekend will mark the debut of the classic’s new two-day schedule.  Events begin with the first qualifying session at 8 a.m. Saturday and conclude with the American Superbike Race at 3 p.m. Sunday.

“With this new format every session is going to count even more than before, so the fans can expect to see the riders pushing hard every minute they are on track,” said Rick Humphrey, vice president of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive promoter at Barber Motorsports Park. “The racing that we see with AMA Pro Road Racing is some of the best racing in the world with riders trading the lead almost every lap, and that’s what we want to provide for our fans.”

Saturday morning activities will end with the American SuperBike top 12 fastest riders competing the pole position. Sunday morning features final qualifying for the Vance & Hines Harley-Davison class and warm-ups for all other classes.

Racing is featured each afternoon with American SuperBike, Daytona SportBike and SuperSport racing each day. The Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson class race will take place Sunday after opening ceremonies.

Fans purchasing a paddock upgrade will have the opportunity to meet the riders and get an up-close look at the race bikes during the Dunlop Fan Walk and opening ceremonies held on pit lane during the lunch break on Sunday.

Castrol has singed on as the event’s official oil and will have naming rights for the fan zone and victory lane at this year’s Classic. The Castrol Fan Zone is considered a must-see part of the weekend, featuring motorcycle manufacturers, vendors, stunt bike performances and autograph sessions.

Freestyle Motocross jumpers will perform three times per day in the Castrol Fan Zone. Soaring 40 feet overhead between take-off and landing ramps that are 75 feet apart, the extreme cyclists will also be available for autographs between shows.

“Castrol is known as the world’s finest manufacturer of motorcycle lubricants, and we are thrilled to join with them for the Triumph SuperBike Classic,” Humphrey said. “With Castrol’s involvement, you’ll see that our already popular Fan Zone will be even bigger and better than before.”

Daily tickets are available starting at $30 or $50 for the two-day weekend. A paddock upgrade is included with the purchase of a two-day ticket and also is available for daily tickets. Parade laps, tent & motorhome camping, and RV spots are also available in limited quantities.
