Funeral service for Thomas P. “Red” Underwood, Jr., 84, was held Friday, May 23 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment was in Greensport Cemetery in Ashville. The family received friends on Thursday, May 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Underwood died May 20, 2014. He was a graduate of Pell City High School, served in the Navy during the Korean War, on the USS Dixie Destroyer as a 3rd Class Petty Officer. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot as an electrician and was a lifelong member of Arbor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Frankie H. Underwood; two daughters, Tanya (Kerry) Foster, Mitzi (Doug) Carden; brother, Calvin Underwood; sister, Francis Isbell; five grandchildren, Derrick Foster, Devin Fields, Savannah Droxler, Dylan Droxler, Jayken Carden; six great-grandchildren, Baylor Fields, Holten Fields, Finley Fields, Audrey Foster, Bailey Masters, Braxton Masters; and one great-great-granddaughter, Brinley Masters.
