The Pell City Board of Education received its annual independent auditors report at Tuesday night’s board meeting.
Auditor Steve Moore presented reports before the board. “In our opinion the finances seem fair,” said Moore. He said that this is the best feedback that can be given, and he enjoys giving these results to boards.
Moore said that the board had managed to increase the general fund by around $400,000 over the year. “Kudos to the board and accounting department,” said Moore.
He continued by noting that there were no internal weaknesses to report and deemed the board a low-risk audit. And according to Moore, there were no matters to be reported. Superintendent Michael Barber thanked Moore and his team for their work. “I’m very proud,” said Barber. “Countless hours go into this.”
