Congratulations to Clay Freeman, a senior at Moody High School, for receiving the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Scholarship!
Freeman will attend UAB in the fall. He received a 26 on his ACT and submitted a moving essay about his experience as an ambassador that afforded him the opportunity to be awarded this scholarship.
He was given the good news at Thursday’s MACC luncheon.
Reading his essay titled, “Proud to Be an Ambassador,” Clay said, “Being a MACC ambassador has made me a more capable leader and given me the necessary experience to be successful in the future.”
After talking about an Ambassador’s trip to J&M Exotic Foods and describing how he learned to put on an event by working in the MACC office in the weeks leading up to Oktoberfest, Clay said his entire two years as a MACC Ambassador has assisted in sharpening his skills set on a whole new level.
“The skills I’ve learned through being an ambassador are useful in my immediate life and have made me capable of leading on a higher scale,” Clay said.
Not only was he grateful and glad to receive this honor, he added, “My mom will be so excited!”
