Feed the need at Curves

- Leeds/Moody Curves owner Julie Ferrell welcomes new and current members to feed the need of their communities.
Leeds/Moody Curves owner Julie Ferrell is excited to have the opportunity to lend a hand up to Leeds Outreach and Shepherd Supply in Moody with the help of her members and potential new ones.
“This is the time of year that our help is really needed,” said Ferrell. “Everyone usually gives around the holidays, but now is when they are depleted. Leeds Outreach and Shepherd Supply need help now.”
The overall goal is to bring in 1500 pounds of groceries by the end of March.
“Members usually bring in the most,” Ferrell said. “They love to donate whether it’s school supplies or for the troops. They’re so giving.”
Community members are encouraged to bring in a bag of non-perishable groceries and, by doing so, new members get their registration fee waived.
“This is a unique way for the community to come together and feed the needs of local food banks while simultaneously feeding the need for women’s health and fitness,” said Ferrell.
When new members or members who are reacquainting themselves with Curves come in, they’ll see several changes.
As the largest chain of women’s fitness centers, Curves International has teamed up Jillian Michaels to help ladies take their workouts to the next level.
“Jillian has revamped the workout. It burns more fat, builds lean muscle and ramps up metabolisms,” said Ferrell. “I’m getting in better shape than I was in high school, and I thought I was in good shape then because I ran track and was an athlete.”
Modifying workouts for any fitness level, Curves also offers Curves Circuit with Zumba and Strength Training.
Another option offered is Curves Complete, which includes exercise, meal plans and coaching with a certified Cleveland Clinic coach.
Opened Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Ferrell and her team at the Leeds/Moody Curves want to help feed the community’s need as well as members of the community who need to get fit.
