Another blast of winter weather

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST THURSDAY

*TEMPERATURES….32-5pm

                                          29-Overnight low

                                          The temperature should rise above freezing between 9-10 am on Thursday

* TIMING…3PM-6PM-a mixture of snow & ice

                        6PM-turning to all snow with the heaviest snowfall at 9:00pm

                        Midnight -snow should be exiting the county

* ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS – 4.5-5 inches in the Northern part of county

                                                                                                       2-3 inch in the Southern part of the county  

                                             

*Note- The NWS has changed the amount of snow for St. Clair

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

 

WINTER WEATHER WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS ACROSS MUCH OF

NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA. SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES MAY BE POSSIBLE FOR

LOCATIONS THAT RECEIVE THE HIGHEST TOTALS OF FREEZING RAIN.

 

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW…

SLEET…AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL

VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
