Here we go again

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Winter Weather Advisory which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Tuesday.

* Timing… the wintry precipitation may begin as early as 6 PM this evening in the far northwestern counties of central Alabama and last through Tuesday afternoon.

* Location… at this time the best potential of snow, sleet, and freezing rain accumulations will be for areas generally along and north of a line from Carrollton to Aliceville to Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Heflin.

* Accumulations up to one inch of snow and sleet across north central Alabama generally north of a line from Sulligent to Jasper to Oneonta to Gadsden. South of this line to the I-20 corridor up to one-tenth of an inch of freezing rain is possible including Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Anniston.

This wintry precipitation could make travel very hazardous.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
