Erica Grieve

Erica Grieve, director of the Greater Pell City Chamber of Commerce, moved to Pell City from Jacksonville, Alabama four years ago. Since that time, Grieve has been seen with a smiling face at all of the city’s most important events. Below Grieve shares why she enjoys her time as executive director so much and what she believes makes the Christmas season so very special.

Favorite part of your job: “People,” Grieve answered, followed by the fact that she just loves to help them.  “Being able to talk to people in the community, getting to know them and figuring out how we can help them or their business is just great,” said Grieve.

Favorite Christmas movie: The Grinch who Stole Christmas. “ It was the first movie that my daughter ever watched, and she was obsessed. We watched if for a year straight.” She added that Jim Carrey also made the movie one of her favorites. “Jim Carrey is always great.”

Favorite Christmas song: Little Drummer Boy. “I just love the meaning behind it and its sound.”

Family tradition: Grieve’s favorite tradition is Christmas Eve with her family. She said everyone opens their presents that night, and after the family gathers around the TV to watch for Santa.

Favorite gift: Grieve said she remembers back to when she was little, and she opened all of her presents and thought to herself, “I didn’t get very much this Christmas.” But soon thereafter, her parents took her to the carport. Inside was a trampoline that had already been put together.

“It was just such a great surprise,” said Grieve.

Christmas memory: Grieve’s favorite Christmas memory is driving all around with her family and looking at Christmas lights. “My dad would always find out where the best ones were.”

Favorite part of the holidays: Children. “ I love seeing my daughter’s eyes light up with all the magic of Christmas,” said Grieve as she wrapped up her Christmas favorites.
