- Jack Wagner watches in anticipation as the baby hawk perched on his hand prepares to take flight.
On Saturday Katie Stubblefield brought hawks out to Pell City to release on open property at the Coosa Valley Equine Center.
This was the first flight for the two baby birds.
“They will fly back to Brazil in about a month,” Stubblefield said. “The broad-winged hawk is a true migratory bird.”
The hawks fly up to this area to breed and have babies, then fly back to Brazil for the winter months.
