Gail Carlisle of Ragland, and Joey Bagwell of Pell City are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Laura Bagwell, to Alex Goforth, the son of Carl and Robin Goforth of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Patsy Pope or Ragland.  Ms. Johnnie Bagwell of Pell City, the late Jerry Bagwell of Ragland and the great granddaughter of Ms. Ione Hollingsworth of Ragland.

She is a 2005 graduate of Ragland High School.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science at the University of West Alabama in 2009 where she also played four years of softball. In 2011 she earned her associate of applied science degree at Jefferson State Community College, in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

She is currently employed at Champion Partners in Rehab, works at Fayette Medical Center as a licensed physical therapist assistant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Herbert and Genella Alexander of Jasper, Ed Goforth and the late Dorothy Goforth, and step-grandmother, the late Lovell Goforth.

He is a 2005 graduate of Walker High School.  He is currently employed with Norfolk Southern Railroad in Irondale.

The wedding will take place at half past six in the evening on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Huckleberry Farms in Jasper.

After a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Jasper.
