Martini Shakers to perform in Leeds

Arts Council (LAC), The Martini Shakers will perform a free concert in Leeds Memorial Park on Sat. June 2 at 7 p.m.

“The Martini Shakers play high energy Rockabilly the way it sounded in 1955—raw and rockin’, exciting, yet family friendly.” The foregoing comment is typical of the media and fans alike. The Martini Shakers have had, from their inception in 2001, a dedication to be “true” to the original recordings of such artist as Elvis, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Hank Sr. and many others. Vocalist and guitarist Jory Heindel felt that people wanted to hear not only something classic, but also something new at the same time; therefore, the group adds its own flair by showing these artists as if they were transported from the Louisiana Hayride and placed on stage in modern times. They’ve released several CD’s and played venues from Wisconsin to Florida with a booking calendar that truly exceeds the expectations of their inception as a garage band in 2001.

The Martini Shakers performed to a very appreciative audience at the LAC Theatre in January, and promise to be no less lively when they return to Leeds for the concert in the park on June 2. So, bring a lawn chair or a blanket, along with a picnic supper, and enjoy the music under the stars, with your family and friends.
