President, lawyer, doctor, and taxidermist are among the jobs some local youngsters have decided they’d like to have when they grow up.

Students in Kerri Swiney’s third grade class at Victory Christian School were asked to identify professions they’d be interested in and the reasons why.  Their responses follow.

Gus Housh:  “I have two favorite jobs.  These jobs are policeman and archaeologist.  I like the policemen because they are a huge protection for us.  I like archaeologists because they find dino bones.”

Logan Phillips:  “When I grow up, my two favorite jobs are solider and doctor.  I like soldiers because they serve for our country.  Doctors remind me of the good that they do for sick people.”

Cole Hunter:  “I have two favorite jobs.  These jobs are baseball and football.  I like baseball because it’s fun.  I like football because you get to run.”

Paul Martinez:  “When I grow up, I have two favorite jobs.  My first favorite job is a rock star.  I like rock stars because they get chased by girls.  My second favorite job is a soldier, because they go on classified missions and they serve our country.  These jobs are awesome.”

Wytte Peoples:  “When I grow up, I want to be a soldier and a lawyer.  I (would) like being a soldier because I fight for our country.  A lawyer reminds me of a good friend of mine.”

Zeb Thompson:  “I want to be a soldier so I can be free.  I want to be a policeman so I can help people from being robbed.  I like these jobs because they are honoring God.”

Anna Wong:  “I want to be a biologist because I like animals of all kinds.  I want to be a librarian because I love to read different books.  These jobs are good for me because I spend a lot of time reading books and watching my pet birds play.”

Olivia Shaddix:  “My first favorite job is a veterinarian, because I like pets.  My second favorite job is a doctor.  I like doctors because it reminds me of helping people.”

Nathan Bean:  “I have two favorite jobs.  These jobs are veterinarian and taxidermist.  I like veterinarian because you feel like saving the world.  I like taxidermist because they can admire deer.  These jobs help people.”

Zach Fritzler:  “I have two favorite jobs.  These jobs are train driver and conductor.  I like train jobs because it’s such easy work.  I would like to be a conductor because you get to go beside trains.  My two favorite jobs remind me of the movie ‘Unstoppable.’”

Gabrianna Wood:  “I would like to be a biologist because I like science.  I would like to be a librarian because I like reading books.”

Sallie Cheatwood:  “My first favorite job is president.  I’d like to be president because you get to stay in the White House.  I want to be a doctor because you give people x-rays.  I’d like to do these jobs because you get to help people.”

Alyssa Bussey:  “When I grow up I want to be a doctor and a fashion designer.  I want to be a doctor because I want to help people.  I want to be a fashion designer because I want to design dresses.”

Creed Cline:  “When I grow up, these are the jobs I want.  The first job is the military.  I want to be in the military because I will fight for our country.  The second thing is heating and air.  I like heating and air because I will crawl under houses.  These jobs look fun.”
