Grade:  Eighth.

Parents:  Stacie Strawbridge and Robert Staton.

A recent accomplishment:  The Springville Middle School student was named captain of the St. Clair All-County JV Cheerleading Squad.  “I was so happy,” she said after receiving the designation during the county cheerleading competition.  “I couldn’t stop smiling.”

What she enjoys most about cheering:  “I like tumbling.”

The hardest part of the sport:  “Going to all the practices and getting ready for competitions.  We run over everything so many times, you get tired of it.”

About those who say cheering isn’t a sport:  “I think they’re so wrong.  It’s very hard and takes just as much as any sport does.”

Other school activities:  Junior Beta Club and First Priority.

Her favorite subject:  “I like science.  We’re not learning about it this year, but I like learning about the human body.”

When she grows up:  “I want to be a professional choreographer.  I’ve always liked dancing.  I love So You Think You Can Dance.  I’ve always wanted to be on there.”
